Shipping policy
At Vintage by Lexie, we pack and ship our unique vintage interior pieces with the utmost care. Because we work with fragile, antique, and often heavy goods, we apply strict rules regarding shipping and transport.
1. Transport Risk and Liability
- Delivery Risk: In accordance with EU consumer law, the risk of loss or damage during transit remains with the Seller until the package is physically delivered to the Buyer or a designated third party (such as a neighbor).
- Collection by Buyer: If the Buyer chooses to arrange their own courier or transport service for pickup, the risk transfers to the Buyer the moment the item is handed over to that courier.
- Mandatory Damage Reporting: Upon receiving the package, the Buyer must immediately inspect the items. In the rare event that an item arrives damaged due to transport, this must be reported to the Seller via email (vintagebylexie@gmail.com) within 48 hours of delivery.
- Required Proof: To process a damage claim, the Buyer must provide clear photographic evidence within this 48-hour window. This must include: photos of the damaged item, photos of the original packaging materials, and photos of the shipping label on the outside of the box. Failure to report damage or provide the requested photographic evidence within 48 hours will result in the expiration of any right to a refund or replacement.
2. Processing Time and Delivery
- We aim to process orders and hand them over to the carrier within [number, e.g., 2 to 5] business days.
- Stated delivery times are indicative. Delays caused by the delivery service do not entitle the Buyer to cancellation or compensation.
- The Buyer is solely responsible for entering the correct delivery address. Any additional costs resulting from an incorrect address or failure to collect the parcel from a pickup point shall be borne entirely by the Buyer.
3. Large Items and Highly Fragile Items
- Large interior pieces, furniture, or extremely fragile vintage items that cannot be shipped via regular parcel post can be picked up by appointment.
4. International Shipping and Import Duties
- We ship worldwide.
- Customs and Duties: If an order is shipped to a country outside the European Union (EU), any import duties, customs fees, VAT, and local government levies shall be borne entirely by the Buyer.
- The Buyer is responsible for handling any customs formalities in the destination country. We have no influence over these additional charges.
