Soup Tureen Petrus Regout Maastricht (1941)

This magnificent, cream-colored ceramic showpiece was made by the renowned factory Petrus Regout & Co. from Maastricht and carries a very special story. On the underside, the tureen features the original sphinx stamp with the exact year 1941.

What makes this dish extra special is the period in which it was produced. While tableware later in World War II had to be very simple and plain white due to material shortages, this 1941 example is still decorated with the beloved, cheerful, and colorful wild flower decor (including a pink rose and a tulip). It is therefore one of the last colorful pieces from those early war years and a beautiful, tangible piece of history.
