RAM Arnhem Delftware tableset - 7 persons
Isn't this a beauty? Yes, I’m a fan of Delft blue-style earthenware, even when it isn't actually made in Delft. Just look at this stunning hand-painted set by RAM, featuring seven lovely cups with matching saucers, a milk jug, and a sugar bowl.
Plateelbakkerij RAM was founded in Arnhem in 1921 and is renowned for its distinctive Dutch earthenware with an artisanal feel. In 1947, RAM was even selected to represent Dutch blue-and-white earthenware at an exhibition in Holland, Michigan—so this is no ordinary little pottery workshop.
This hand-painted set likely dates back to 1950. Sadly, RAM closed its doors for good in 1969, but fortunately, this piece of Dutch ceramic history in the Delft blue style has been beautifully preserved. Who knows, it might soon be in your home, ready for you to enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea.
The set consists of:
-
- 7 cups with matching saucers
- 1 milk jug
- 1 sugar bowl
- The original teapot (unfortunately damaged, so it’s included as a free gift—perhaps to use as a small vase? I just couldn't bring myself to throw it away)
- Brand: RAM
- Origin: Arnhem, the Netherlands
- Date: circa 1950
- Style: Hand-painted earthenware in the Delft blue style
- Condition: Very good (except for the teapot, which is included fro free)
