Vintage Bohemian glass - set of 2 hand painted vases with gold details

A stunning pair of vintage Bohemian glass pieces in deep jewel tones. One vase is crafted in intense cobalt blue, the other in warm ruby red; both are richly decorated with gold and hand-painted flowers.

The glass features a broad gold-colored design that intentionally leaves sections of the underlying colored glass visible. Fine, graceful scrolls and ornaments lend the vases a distinctively Baroque aesthetic. Particularly striking are the raised white flowers, accented with subtle touches of pink, blue, yellow, and green. The relief of the enamel adds depth to the design, clearly demonstrating the meticulous attention paid to the finish.

The tall cobalt blue vase has an elegant, slender profile set on a round base, while the ruby red vase is shorter and wider, featuring a flared, chalice-like shape. It is precisely this contrast in shape and color that makes them a magnificent decorative pair.

This type of richly decorated glass was produced in the Bohemian glassmaking region of the former Czechoslovakia for the European export market. The combination of colored glass, gold detailing, and enamel painting was especially popular during the mid-20th century. Based on their style and craftsmanship, these pieces likely date from the 1950–1970 period.
